摘要
目前在語言學領域，語言學家們不僅只對語言本身進行一些研究，他們還對人們日常對話中的語言產(chǎn)生了越來越濃厚的興趣。人們是如何表達他們的意圖的？人們是經(jīng)常直接表達他們想說的，還是使用一些別的方法來交流？對這些方法，是否存在相關的理論解釋？以上這些問題成為了語言學家們力圖探詢的主題。本文的目的在于用語用學的理論來闡述中英文對話中人們是如何表達他們的意圖。首先，本文簡單介紹言語行為理論，間接言語行為理論，會話含義以及合作原則。然后，對這些理論進行詳細的解釋，并且用大量的例子來表明，在大多數(shù)場合，人們會選擇間接的方式來表達他們的意圖。最后，本文給出一個結論。既在中英文對話中，語用學相關理論對說話人意圖表達的研究起著很大的作用。

Abstract
In the field of linguistics today, linguists not only do some research work in language itself, but also become more and more curious about the utterance in people’s daily conversation. How can people express their intentions? Do they always say what they want to express directly or use the other methods to communicate? Is there any theoretical system about the ways which people like to apply in their conversations? These become the central topics which linguists are trying their best to explore. The purpose of this thesis is to show how people express their intentions in the English and Chinese conversation by using the pragmatic theories. Abstract
