1 Introduction
Social Identities is a theory to against for to individualistic explanations. It is defined according to one person’s self-sense from one potential membership in certain social group. When someone belong to a social group they will feel and sense or at least part of the common group identities (Donald T. and Fathali 1994). Simply speaking social identity is a common symbol of group behaviours. It has been proved to be a central concept to explain some social psychology sociology fashion and appearance trends (Tajfel and Turner 1979). Fashion is a worldwide used word. It usually relates with the color style and texture of clothing. Above all fashion provides the most popular best and typical appearance for people in certain social group. It is said that fashion and appearance is a well image for our self-concept in the social identities. At the same time certain social identities could be demonstrated and constructed by their components or people through fashion and appearance (Peevey and Chang 2002). In this essay it focused on the field of fashion and appearance and explained that how fashion and appearance is central to the construction of social identities.
